Atrocious Biden/Harris Record From The Memory Hole

We live in the United States of Amnesia; and the political establishment and media have been taking advantage of this for decades to rig elections and the economy in their own favor. However, they're taking it to a bizarre extreme with the Biden/Harris ticket trying to portray them as progressives, then shaming anyone that points out their record.

The propaganda coming from the mainstream media has been getting steadily worse for years, if not decades; and, as anyone that understands the fundamentals of propaganda it's increasingly clear that mainstream media is almost all propaganda with little or no educational material. One of the most basic fundamentals of propaganda is that "a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth," or at least it seems to, especially if it's not challenged. The mainstream media repeats the same basic ideas over and over again rarely challenging them, but when they do challenge them it's only briefly, often with appeals to emotion to reinforce their propaganda then quickly forgotten.

Another important fundamental of propaganda is recognizing where the majority of the public gets their news that they use to make important decisions, and in most cases, it's almost certainly TV, with a minority that's more likely to get their news from news papers or on the internet, some of those that recognize how bad traditional media is rely more on alternative media. Unfortunately the majority of the public probably doesn't pay that much attention to the media at all, so even if they do recognize that mainstream media is biased, they may not check with alternative media outlets.

Since five corporations control over 95% of the media they have the opportunity to provide obsession coverage for the candidates they support giving them name recognition, which progressive candidates that actually support many issues favored by the majority of the public can't get. This year a majority of the public almost certainly never even heard of Howie Hawkins, who supports many policies favored by the public; the same thing happened in 2012 and 2016, with slightly more people hearing about Jill Stein, but they were given the impression that she didn't have a chance, partly because she was rarely even mentioned in the polls.

The way democracy is supposed to work is the public has an opportunity to hear about all the issues and candidates so they can choose the one that best represents them, and agrees with them on the issues. The way our system works is candidates supporting corporate interests get obsession coverage and put out contradictory claims about their positions on the issues, saying one thing in front of one audience and a different thing in front of another audience, guaranteeing that, if elected they will have to break promises to at least one segment of the public, often the majority. The false claims are often repeated over and over again while the truth is only reported in a lower profile.

This was made incredibly obvious with several Memes, either for Bernie Sanders, or with him out of the race, Howie Hawkins, which show the vast majority of the public support about twenty policies, many of which have already passed in other countries with higher quality of life, supported by both Bernie Sanders and Howie Hawkins, yet opposed by virtually all establishment candidates, including Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Several of these Memes are backed up with sources showing the polls like Polls With Citations: Americans Want Bernie’s New Deal For All 07/26/2019 which is almost identical to the one below and I checked them for another one in Bernie Sanders Has informed Grassroots Support; Others Have Media Propaganda!

Both Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton oppose almost all of these policies overwhelmingly favored by the public; with the only exceptions being protecting the right to abortion, in some polls supporting the right to same sex marriage, although both opposed this in the past, and if they added support for some reasonable gun control, that would be three. This is less than 20% of the leading issues people are concerned about; and, except for legalizing marijuana almost all, if not all the other issues involve rigging the economy in favor of their campaign contributors! We would have to go back at least thirty or forty years to find any major nominees that supported the policies favored by the public, although some nominees may have done a better job pretending to support them during the campaign, especially Barack Obama, but once in office he showed that he never supported these policies nearly as much as he pretended, and by 2012 it was clear that he broke his promises to the public so he could keep promises to campaign contributors.

How can we possibly nominate two candidates every four years that oppose the vast majority of policies overwhelmingly favored by the public?

For the most part they keep discussion of issues to a minimum, spending far more time covering polls or other shallow things, and when they do the coverage of issues on television, where most people get their news is incredibly bad. And of course, as I already said they give an enormous amount of obsession coverage to the candidates they favor, without checking facts hoping that we won't either.

If that isn't enough, which included both the 2016 and 2020 Democratic primaries, they cheat! I went into this much more in Epidemic 2020 Election Fraud Again and another article from 2016 Some of these voter suppression tactics were even reported on mainstream media; however, they didn't compile all the stories reporting a handful at the local level, and often spinning it to downplay the importance; and, of course, quickly forgetting about these problems after the primaries are over. But the best reporting came from alternative media outlets which did a far better job covering the subject. There's little or no doubt that our election process is a tragedy and a farce.

I'm certainly no fan of Donald Trump, but at least the traditional media is covering a lot of his flaws which are serious, so I don't worry about putting more emphasis on that; but most people may not know that Joe Biden is just as bad, sometimes worse, despite rhetoric that often sounds better. The vast majority of the public may not be able to tell where Joe Biden and Kamala Harris stand on many issues, because most of their record is only reported briefly and forgotten while deceptive propaganda is repeated over and over again. Fortunately there are a few good sources compiling the data on the internet one of them points out 25 Reasons Joe Biden Isn’t Necessarily ‘Better Than Trump’ 03/08/2020 and includes sources for most if not all of them; and Debbie Pinard has reposted a list of Joe Biden's history or positions as well as 18 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Kamala Harris’s Record; these don't have sources; however, I've checked them all and provided a long list of sources below. I also did a review of Joe Biden's record earlier in the campaign, at a time when I thought there was little or no chance that he could get the nomination, becasue his record was so bad, and his campaign wasn't much better, and reported on it including his racist background in Joe Biden Really Was Taken Off The Trash Heap.

The closer you look at both of their record the worse they look! There's no doubt they're both catering overwhelmingly to Wall Street with the intention of rigging the economy as bad as Donald Trump and worse than Barack Obama, although Obama was pretty bad, he did a better job pretending to serve the interests of the working class, at times. Joe Biden supported the Iraqi war and many others as well as sales of arms around the world despite a long history of many of the weapons our country have sold being turned against us, including arming Saddam Hussein, the mujaheddin, which became Al Qaeda and the Taliban, Noriega, both sides of the Syrian war and more tyrants that I can list here.

Even on the issues that he now agrees with the majority of the public on, listed above, he opposed them in the past, including voting to allow states to overturn Roe v. Wade. He rigged the economy in favor of banks, credit card companies and deprived students of any opportunity to seek protection from bankruptcy, even though they're the victims of predatory lending and price gouging from colleges. He vowed to veto Medicare for all, even during the pandemic despite the fact that it works much better in many other countries, and almost 70% of the public and 88% of the Democrats that allegedly nominated him, assuming you ignore cheating on his behalf, support it. He has nothing but contempt for voters who question him, on several occasions yelling at them telling them to vote for Trump. If he had to earn votes there's no way he would be doing this, and with this kind of behavior it only adds to the evidence that the primary was rigged.

Perhaps one of the worst thing he did was support various crime bills and the Patriot Act, which he often took the lead in writing as well that led to massive incarceration and rapidly eroded many of our rights. He calls on tough on crime policies but only when those committing crimes are working class people, not his own relatives or campaign donors. Kamala Harris is as bad, if not worse on her get tough on crime policies. she often looked the other way while police framed suspects and prosecutors withheld evidence that could exonerate many innocent people to advance her career, or worse helped them do it. In one of the worst cases, San Francisco was stuck with a $13.1 million legal bill, yet she didn't investigate either the police or the prosecutors that were responsible for it, nor does she prosecute police for killing people, even in the most extreme cases. The same goes for white collar crime, including Steve Mnuchin, who donated to her campaign while he was involved in epidemic levels of fraud in the foreclosure crisis, and she didn't prosecute or even investigate him. There's little or no chance that he could have been approved in Trump's cabinet if she had held him accountable for his epidemic levels of fraud.

Both Biden and Harris, as well as Trump and many other establishment politicians clearly think laws are only for the working class, not their political allies.

Joe Biden has claimed that he wants to reform many of the outrageous policies that created mass incarceration and contributed to the big problem with police shooting and killing over a thousand people every year, far more, even on a per capita basis, than any other wealthy country in the world; however his recent ads denouncing violent protests, on both sides, although he puts more emphasis on Trump supporters, without acknowledging the fact that most of them have been peaceful, and in many cases the vast majority of the violence came from police, nor is he trying to hold any police accountable for the shootings or violent clamp down on peaceful protesters. Instead he wants to give them more money without credible offers to address social problems before they escalate and lead to confrontations with police.

Good research is far better than Memes of course; but this one gets right to the point and the basic idea is based on good research, some of which I've covered in past articles.

It's almost out of the question that this election is hardly going to change anything and that Biden is far more like Trump than his own constituents, and even if you think that he's the lesser evil, which I'm not so sure of; a vote for him is a vote to support the oligarchy and make it appear as if this election has some legitimacy. It may be virtually out of the question that Howie Hawkins will win, but even if so, a vote for him shows that you're not falling for the same exact scam every four years.

Voting Green alone isn't going to solve all these problems or end the rigging of elections and the economy; however, it can be a part of bigger solutions. For many things have been getting bad for years, of not decades; although people living in suburbs often don't know how bad it is for others, even if many of them are have their own problems. We've been having an increase in massive protests for decades, including the uprising in Wisconsin, followed by a couple years of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which is still going on, even if it's not at it's peak and many other protests, including Black Lives Matter, which gets the most attention. These protest have had far more impact, at least at the local level, then voting.

That won't be enough either unless many more people join in, which might happen if things crash even worse. The question is how bad does it have to get before the Sheeple wake up and stop falling for scams from the oligarchs? Alternative media, protests and other efforts have to be part of the solution but we can't allow the oligarchs to control all powerful institutions indoctrinating us to accept a slow but steady decline, which could rapidly escalate, almost without warning to a total collapse.

Another reason not to vote for Biden may be that he isn't really the lesser evil at all, despite Trump's rhetoric and outrageous things he's done. Trump recently expanded a drilling moratorium off the coast of Florida and surrounding states, created a moratorium on evictions until the end of the year, which will be difficult to end in the winter, although there are problems with it, especially for small landlords; and even called out the military for fighting wars to increase profits for weapons manufacturers. He's being demonized for this by the mainstream media and he's also guilty of this himself; however many antiwar activists have known for decades that this is exactly what they've been doing as I pointed out recently in Arming The Enemy For Permanent War! and an older article that shows that Democrats are just as bad, Obama, Kerry arm sales maintain permanent state of war!

Joe Biden’s Legislative Record Anything but Progressive 05/01/2019 Well that act you just referred to, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, was the repeal of Glass-Steagall and just to remind people, Glass-Steagall was a Depression era, a New Deal era, really piece of legislation that separated investment banks from commercial banks. It meant what it really meant was that banks couldn’t gamble with your money, your money and mine. So that, you know, all money in the bank is protected by the insured thanks to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. And Glass-Steagall meant that they couldn’t then go off and take our money and sort of make bets with it, which had been going on in the run up, to the Great Crash. Biden helped to eliminate protections against financial industry speculation thereby creating conditions that exacerbated the Great Recession of 2008. In 1999, Biden voted for the Financial Services Modernization Act, which repealed the Depression-era Glass-Steagall law barring banks from owning securities and insurance businesses. One of Biden’s largest contributors MBNA lobbied for the repeal of Glass Steagall and he delivered. Glass-Steagall created a wall between commercial banks and investment banks. Workers and small businesses use commercial banks to deposit their money in federally guaranteed checking and savings accounts. Glass Steagall prevented banks from transferring these federally guaranteed deposits to their investment banking operations that focused on high risk and speculative investments.

Harris also rejected pleas by civil rights activists to investigate deadly police shootings of young black men in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Arguing Three Strikes 05/21/2010 But on three strikes, Cooley will run to Harris’s left. (She didn’t support his 2006 proposal, though she is one of the prosecutors who, on a case-by-case basis, refrains from seeking a life sentence for some nonviolent three-strikers.) It’s a reminder of how far the prosecution of Gregory Taylor, the homeless man who broke into the church, has taken Cooley from the expected comfort zone of a prosecutor.

The court disagreed, allowing Larsen’s release in 2013

Prosecutors protect themselves first: Column 03/08/2015 When the trial judge found out, charges against the defendant were dismissed. Incredibly, the State of California, via Attorney General Kamala Harris, decided to appeal the case. 12) Fought a Supreme Court ruling, fighting to oppose release of nonviolent offenders.

Federal judges order California to expand prison releases 11/14/2014 Most of those prisoners now work as groundskeepers, janitors and in prison kitchens, with wages that range from 8 cents to 37 cents per hour. Lawyers for Attorney General Kamala Harris had argued in court that if forced to release these inmates early, prisons would lose an important labor pool.

How Kamala Harris Fought to Keep Nonviolent Prisoners Locked Up 07/30/2020 The state submitted a proposal that involved relocating inmates to fire camps to fight wildfires, and preventing out-of-state prisoners from being returned. But upon review, the three-judge panel found that that still left California’s prisons some 4,170 prisoners over the hard limit. ...... in late 2014, lawyers from her office claimed that nonviolent offenders needed to stay incarcerated, lest they lose bodies for fire camps in the wildfire-plagued state, as Jackie Kucinich of the Daily Beast reported.

Kamala Harris office sought to keep inmates locked up so that California could use them for cheap labor 02/11/2019 “Extending 2-for-1 credits to all minimum custody inmates at this time would severely impact fire camp participation — a dangerous outcome while California is in the middle of a difficult fire season and severe drought,” lawyers from Harris’s office wrote in a filing. .... The judges rejected the argument. (These inmates are being trained to fight fires, yet on their release they're not allowed to become real firefighters with full pay because of their felony convictions. There's little or no concern about justice or rehabilitation, just using them for cheap labor and advancing her political career.)

13) When the Supreme Court decided that “California's overcrowded prisons represented cruel and unusual punishment”, Attorney General Harris fought a ruling ordering California to release some of its prisoners, refused to release non violent offenders referring to Governor Gerry Brown as her client.

Debate fact check: Kamala Harris’s body camera comments didn’t tell full story of her record 06/28/2019

During Thursday night’s Democratic presidential debate, California Sen. Kamala Harris got into a heated exchange about race with former Vice President Joe Biden.

When confronting Biden about his record, she spoke about actions she took as California’s attorney general, saying, “I was very proud to put in place a requirement that all my special agents would wear body cameras and keep those cameras on.”

It’s true the California Department of Justice became the first statewide law enforcement agency in the country mandating officers wear body cameras, but that requirement only applied to people working for Harris. It did not extend to all local police officers across the state.

In 2015, Harris told The Sacramento Bee she didn’t support statewide standards regulating the use of officer-worn body cameras. She wanted local agencies to set their own regulations.

“I as a general matter believe that we should invest in the ability of law enforcement leaders in specific regions and with their departments to use ... discretion to figure out what technology they are going to adopt based on needs that they have and resources that they have,” Harris said after an event with fellow law enforcement officials.

Since her election to the U.S. Senate, Harris has sponsored legislation that would create a pilot program for border patrol officers to wear body cameras.

Her campaign did not immediately respond when reached for comment. Complete article

Kamala Harris: Drug Warrior, Vice Cop, Draconian Prosecutor 09/0/2020

Tulsi Gabbard Calls Kamala Harris a Drug Warrior and Dirty Prosecutor. She's Right. 07/31/2019 Harris says she's proud of her record, "but I am deeply concerned about this record," said Gabbard. "There are too many examples to cite, but…she blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so. She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California. And she fought to keep cash bail system in place that impacts poor people in the worst kind of way." ......

Gabbard told Harris that the people who "suffered under [her] reign" were owed an apology. "The bottom line is, when you were in a position to make a difference and an impact in these people's lives, you did not. And worse yet, in the case of those who are on death row, innocent people, you actually blocked evidence from being revealed that would have freed them until you were forced to do so. There's no excuse for that." (Kamala Harris acted with self-righteous indignation at these claims, but did not refute them, since they were backed up by evidence.)

Fact check: Did Kamala Harris block evidence that would have freed inmates? 07/31/2020

During Wednesday night’s Democratic presidential debate, former Vice President Joe Biden and Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard went after California Sen. Kamala Harris over her record as the state’s attorney general and San Francisco’s district attorney.

Biden alluded to a crime lab scandal that involved her district attorney’s office and resulted in more than 1,000 drug cases being dismissed. Gabbard claimed Harris “blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so.”

Biden’s claim that 1,000 drug cases had to be dismissed when Harris was D.A. is accurate, although Harris has denied knowing about the problems with the crime lab that triggered those dismissals until the issue became public. Gabbard is correct that Harris did not pursue all evidence in the case she referenced, but the innocence of the inmate in question has yet to be determined.

Longtime San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi criticized Harris’s handling of the crime lab situation back in 2010 and during a January interview with The Sacramento Bee.

The San Francisco drug lab was shut down after a lead technician, who testified on behalf of prosecutors on drug cases, was found to have systematically mishandled the drug samples seized from suspects, even consuming some herself.

While the San Francisco Police Department was responsible for running the lab, not Harris’s district attorney office, a court ruled in 2010 that the district attorney’s office violated defendants’ constitutional rights by not disclosing what it knew about the tainted drug evidence.

Judge Anne-Christine Masullo wrote in her decision that prosecutors “at the highest levels of the district attorney’s office knew that Madden was not a dependable witness at trial and that there were serious concerns regarding the crime lab.”

And the Wall Street Journal reported in June that Harris ignored staff recommendations back in 2005 urging her office to establish a defendants rights policy, known as the Brady doctrine, that would have mandated her staff to disclose such information to defendants.

Harris has denied being aware of the drug lab issues at the time and also noted that her office implemented a Brady policy after the drug lab scandal came to her attention. Her office dismissed an estimated 1,000 cases as a result.

In February, California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered new DNA testing in the 1983 murder case of Kevin Cooper. Cooper came within hours of execution in 2004 after being charged with the murders of an adult couple and two children. Harris opposed the testing when she was the state’s attorney general.

She has since said she supports DNA testing and encouraged Newsom to approve Cooper’s request. She did not offer specifics on why she did not approve the testing during her tenure.

In response to a request for comment, Harris’s campaign pointed to a past statement where the senator called a New York Times columnist last year, telling him, “I feel awful about this.”

The testing is not yet complete. Whether Gabbard’s claim that the testing “would” have exonerated him remains an open question.

Harris defended her criminal justice record Wednesday night. “As elected attorney general of California I did the work of significantly reforming the criminal justice system of a state of 40 million people, which became a national model of the work that needs to be done, and I am proud of that work.” Complete article
