I have met many refugees in Europe who are from Afghanistan, syria, Chile, Colombia etc. A lot of them could speak some English and are well spoken despite having barely any access to education when they were young.<br />I'm not saying they were not scarred for their past trauma but some of them can hide it and they only want to present themselves as normal people while striving to have a normal life. There are a lot of boys who come from Afghanistan and never did learn how to read or write, but they managed to travel thousands of miles by foot, truck or train and endured hunger to get to Europe, then some studied very hard and become well integrated. So the story of Shin Dong-hyuk might be unbelievable to you, but it's not impossible.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
